Located in the Midwest District of Tainan City, Taiwan. The department store was opened on December 5, 1932, located in Suehirocho 2-chome, Tainan City during the Japanese rule period. It was the second department store in Taiwan and the first in Southern Taiwan, and the only one with a Shinto shrine in Taiwan. It was also commonly known as the Five-Story Building, and was built in an eclectic style of reinforced concrete, which was quite modern and eye-catching at that time.
